The Karate Kid Movie 2010

A remake of a 1984 hit movie, Jackie Chan introducing Jaden Smith who happens to be the son of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith will take the lead in Columbia Pictures latest movie, The Karate Kid. This talented 11- year old young boy was already seen in the movie City of Sin and was awarded as ShoWest’s Breakthrough Male Star of the Year last March 17 this year.

The Karate Kid is set on China where Dre (Smith) will face the turning point in his life. Raised in Detroit, his mom (Taraji P. Henson) decides to move to China to seek greener pastures for them. As Dre tries to live the life in his new home, he finally meets this cute girl, his classmate, Mei Ying. Trying to find a new inspiration, Dre eventually falls for her. But then, it wasn’t a smooth- sailing life for Dre. As he meets the “love of his life”, Dre also meets the “nightmare of his life” as well. Being terrified and bullied all the time, Dre experienced hell in school not until Dr. Han takes over characterized by the master himself, Mr. Jackie Chan.

Dr. Han (Chan) teaches the technique of Kung Fu to this young boy. Though Dre knows a little of Kung Fu, he admits that he still has a lot of room for improvement. As his skills were developed, his maturity as well grows. Being bullied in school before, this young boy had made it big in Kung Fu and now became the Karate Kid. By this, Mei- Ying falls in love also to the newest China pride- Dre. Dr. Han became Dre’s refuge and his confidant.

Directed by Harald Zwart, witness this new fun- filled movie for the whole family and enjoy the astonishing sceneries in China especially one of the Wonder’s of the World- Great Wall of China.
