Chinese kung fu fans

OK, so it is easy to be cynical and think that the only reason that Jackie Chan gives so much support to certain brand name cars is that they pay him a huge sponsorship check. How true this is, is anyone’s guess but to me, he does look like he enjoys it when he gets behind the wheel of a car and gets to drive around. And I would not imagine that he has a chauffeur on his payroll like many other highly paid stars. I am just speculating here because I do not know him personally but to me he appears to be a laid back, down to earth guy who just likes to drive a nice car without any of the hassle or fuss.

Not only does Jackie Chan appear in some ad campaigns for certain motors but he has also written about how much he loves cars. He even asked for an SUV from his favourite car manufacturer to be sent to him while filming ‘The Forbidden Kingdom’. In 2005 Jackie took his love of cars that little bit further by helping to design one; these were released as a limited edition.

He often uses Japanese cars in his films as he seems to have a soft spot for them. Chinese car manufacturers might feel a little betrayed by this but the fact that there probably isn’t many of us who even know any Chinese car manufacturers may be to blame for this. In fact the first time I ever saw Jackie Chan in a movie was where he had a small part playing a co-driver. However these days he likes to do all the driving and it is not really surprising. Although he won’t be able to carry on with his kung-fu moves forever, he will probably get longer out of driving.

Technological advancement waits for no man and some of the advances of today are absolutely astounding. And none so more than in the automotive industry. Take all things to do with the electric cars. With far reaching advances in electric vehicleslike asx to name only a very small number.
